Why Middlemore sounds like this

A harp plays slow, rising arpeggios, then rolls back home. The station serves Middlemore Hospital, one of the country's busiest, and many people getting off here are visiting someone unwell or starting a long shift. The harp is the calmest chime on the network, there to settle you as the doors open.

Inside the chime

Middlemore's chime runs about 4 seconds, in two parts. Every station's chime ends on its family's signature, so you can tell roughly where you are by ear.
