Why Ngākōroa sounds like this

The Ngākōroa Stream babbles under rising, breathy notes from a kōauau stand-in, which a real player could replace. The station takes its name from the stream, which runs through the new suburbs growing west of Drury, so its chime begins with the water it's named for.

Inside the chime

Ngākōroa's chime runs about 4 seconds, in two parts. Every station's chime ends on its family's signature, so you can tell roughly where you are by ear.
