Why Puhinui sounds like this
A jet roars and climbs away, then a soft chime rises. Puhinui is the rail stop for Auckland Airport, with buses running from the station to the terminals. The jet is why most people change here, and the chime is the kind you hear in a terminal.
Inside the chime
Puhinui's chime runs about 4 seconds, in two parts. Every station's chime ends on its family's signature, so you can tell roughly where you are by ear.
